Placement:
Keep indoors when temperatures are cold. You can place the fringe flower outside in sun or semi-shade during the summer in temperate climates.
Watering and feeding:
They must be watered generously as soon as the top inch of soil gets dry. Do not let the soil dry out fully and avoid constant wetness. It is preferable to use rain water on a loropetalum. See our watering guide.
Only feed periodically during the growing season (March-Oct).
Pruning and wiring:
The best time to prune is in late spring when the tree has finished flowering. Prune well in summer to encourage bushiness.
Wire gently. A lovely loropetalum shape can be achieved with pruning alone.
Repotting:
Repot in early spring with a well-draining bonsai soil mix.
