The Araucaria cunninghamii, commonly known as the Hoop Pine, is an elegant evergreen conifer with soft, fine-textured foliage arranged in symmetrical tiers. Unlike true pines, its needles are smooth and scale-like, giving it a refined, architectural appearance. As a bonsai, it offers a calm, structured aesthetic and retains its foliage year-round.

Watering
No strict schedule, watering needs vary based on climate, soil, airflow, and pot size.

Feeding
Feed weekly or fortnightly from March to October with Chrysal Liquid Bonsai Feed (2 ml per litre of water). Add directly to the water during submersion.
Araucaria does not respond well to aggressive pinching, so prune conservatively. Growing season (March–September).
Wiring is best done during late autumn, when the tree’s growth naturally slows. Use a wire that is approximately the same thickness as the branch. This helps gently shape and refine your bonsai’s structure over time.
